INTRODUCTION

Data analysis           Increasing impact

As part of their ongoing efforts to improve, grow, and enhance their social impact, many organizations engage in self-assessment and inquiry.

The platform was created as part of the max Impact Israel program,

in a team with a product manager, a programmer, and me, a product designer.

At the end of the program, the association decided to buy the project and develop it as a real product

THE PROBLEM

Complicated, and complex,
and takes time to learn

Data analysis in organizations is often inconsistent and inaccurate.

It demands significant time and resources to learn complex tools that offer more options than necessary. This complexity leads many organizations to abandon the process or use time-consuming, primitive methods, typically managed by a single person in a high-turnover environment.

Where does the information come from?

The association is developing a questionnaire for their Campers, based on the primary axes of influence that the association aims to measure.

The questionnaire includes about 40 questions, each question contributes to the average of an index.
Each axes of influence includes several indicators.

For example:
The association is interested in measuring the axis of influence 2 - social capital. The questionnaire has a total of 20 questions and 4 indexes that build the average of social capital;
5 of the questions are calculated for the average of Index 1 - the trainee's ability to maintain and strengthen relationships. The remaining 15 questions are divided into the other 3 indexes.
The average of the 4 indexes is the figure of influence axis 2.

THE RESEARCH

Research Method

The potential users are a limited number of people in each association.

We decided to conduct in-depth interviews with 3 out of 6 relevant officials in the BaKehila association.

Purpose and Conclusions

1.

Get to know the users

  • Each manager is responsible for a different district or program

  • They change frequently

  • Hold varying levels of technological intuition

2.

Understand the user's goals

present the information clearly so that it can be used for the following purposes:

  • Obtaining a situational picture and concluding the activity

  • Presentation to authorities

  • Presentation to investors

"Every year program managers change and have to learn anew how to read the data and put it into action"

THE SOLUTION

A user-friendly data analysis platform
to increase social impact

Dashboard

Shows trends

Upon entering the platform, users immediately see how the program's impact compares to previous periods. Research showed that this situational overview is highly valued, helping users focus on successful processes and identify areas needing improvement.

Complex data analysis

It's easy to define what you want to see

axis of influence overloaded.png

1. Influence axes data

The platform will be used 2-3 times a year after surveys are filled out, so it needs to be easy to learn, presenting only a few options and features at each stage. The user is given full control in filtering the data according to what is relevant to his/her district or program.

The presentation is divided into two topics:

By filtering the information, choosing the X-axis according to the data they want to focus on, and the Y-axis - the measured influence axis, users will be able to get the situational picture in the relevant programs.

Working with the platform does not require prior knowledge.

 2. Demographic data

The association operates in the social and geographic periphery. Therefore, the demographic data of the campers, such as age, grade, neighborhood, school, etc. are important for analyzing the data and measuring the activity according to these sections. Changes in the number of trainees can be a measure of success or places that require improvement.
